Our Story
Where it All Began
Mindy founded Newborn Advantage Surrogacy because she intimately understands the heartache, uncertainty, and hope that come with the journey to parenthood. After years of navigating her own infertility, countless inseminations and multiple IVF cycles, she experienced firsthand the emotional toll of hoping, waiting, and pushing forward.
That journey gave her a deep education in reproductive medicine and a lasting appreciation for the resilience it takes to pursue a family.
At the same time, her background in venture capital and business development taught her how to build organizations that deliver real results for the people they serve. In 2005, she brought both worlds together and founded Newborn Advantage Surrogacy with a simple mission: to give intended parents the guidance, advocacy, and compassionate support she wished she’d had during her own journey.
What began as a boutique agency grew through referrals and reputation, expanding internationally in 2008, and for more than two decades, that mission hasn’t changed.
That belief became the foundation of Newborn Advantage Surrogacy, and it’s the same hands-on approach Courtney continues to carry forward today.

With over 20 years of experience in reproductive consulting, Mindy has helped hundreds of families achieve their dreams of parenthood. Her expertise in surrogacy, egg donation, and fertility planning has made her a sought-after consultant and speaker. Today, she continues to work closely with intended parents, offering personal guidance through consultations as they navigate the early stages of the surrogacy process.
Courtney Torlai
CEO & Client Journey Lead
Following in her mother’s footsteps, Courtney brings a fresh perspective and hands-on approach to every journey. She oversees the process from match to delivery, coordinating medical clearances, travel, billing, insurance support, and communication, so intended parents and surrogates always know who to call, get answers quickly, and have someone in their corner. With Courtney, you’re never just a file number.
Jemma Kessler
Surrogate Recruitment & Ongoing Support
Jemma leads surrogate recruitment and onboarding, guiding candidates through screening and working with a nurse who reviews medical records to help ensure every surrogate is a strong, healthy fit before she’s presented to intended parents. Her attention to detail and compassionate approach ensure every surrogate begins her journey supported, informed, and ready. And her support doesn’t stop there, alongside Courtney, Jemma remains a point of contact throughout the journey, so surrogates always have someone to reach out to.
